If you’re hooped up and well into the Sage Florals Hoop from our Premium membership boxes, you’re probably aware that those last stitches—a ton of French knots—can be the trickiest. But instructor Vanessa Vargas Wilson has tips to get you through them in a flash.
First, some rules of thumb: keep lots of tension in your floss, always come up through the back of your fabric and go down right beside that original stitch (not through the same hole). And don’t shy away from practicing on some scrap fabric if you need to.
Once you’re ready to play around with the size of your knots, you can:
- Vary how many times you wrap the floss around your needle.
- Mix up the strands of your floss.
After a few tries, you’ll have the method down pat.
